Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026
FaithVoice is an app for recording Scripture in your own voice and sharing it with your family. It's provided by DevScape.io LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the FaithVoice apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the website at faithvoice.app, and the family listening pages.
In short
- We collect what's needed to store your recordings and share them with the people you choose.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
- Speech recognition used to line up verses runs on your device. That audio isn't sent to us or to Apple for it.
- You can export everything, and you can ask us to delete your account and recordings at any time.
Information you give us
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us an account identifier and an email address. If you choose "Hide My Email", that's a private relay address. If you choose to share it, Apple also gives us your name. Listeners don't need an account to use an open family link.
Your collection
When you record, we store your audio recordings, the timing of each verse within them, the title of your collection, the reader name you choose, the translation you read from, and which books, chapters and verses you've recorded. With the Legacy plan, we also store written notes and voice notes you attach to passages.
People you share with
If you invite people to an invite-only link, we store the email addresses you enter so we can let them in. If you name a legacy contact, we store their name and email address. Please only add people who'd expect to hear from you this way.
Listeners on invite-only links
To open an invite-only link, a listener signs in with the email address that was invited: on the web we send a one-time sign-in link to that address, and in the app they sign in with Apple. We use that address only to check the invitation.
Messages to us
If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.
Purchases
Memberships are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card or billing details. We receive information about the transaction, such as the plan, purchase and renewal dates, and transaction identifiers. We use it to confirm your membership on all your devices and to keep it current when it renews, lapses or is refunded.
What stays on your device
- Microphone. FaithVoice uses the microphone only while you're recording or running the microphone test. The test isn't saved.
- Speech recognition. After you record, the app can listen to your recording on your device to line up each verse with your voice. This uses Apple's on-device speech recognition; the audio doesn't leave your device for this.
- Reminders. Daily reminders to record are scheduled on your device. No server is involved.
- Recordings in progress. Recordings are saved on your device first and uploaded afterwards. Until then, they exist only on your device.
Information collected automatically
Like most online services, our hosting providers keep technical logs when the app or a browser connects to our servers. These include the IP address, device or browser type, the time, and the request made. They're used to keep the service running and secure, and to find and fix problems. We don't use them to build profiles of you.
The faithvoice.app website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit it.
How we use your information
- To store your recordings and notes and make them available to you on all your devices.
- To process recordings so they play at a consistent volume, and to keep backup copies.
- To deliver your collection to the people you share it with, in the way you've allowed.
- To confirm and manage your membership.
- To respond to you and to keep the service secure, including preventing abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising, and we don't use your recordings to train AI models.
Who we share it with
People you choose. Sharing is the point of FaithVoice. Anyone with an open link can listen to that collection, and people you invite can listen to an invite-only one. If you allow downloads or re-sharing, they can keep or pass on what they hear. You can turn a link off at any time.
Service providers who run parts of FaithVoice for us, under contracts that limit their use of your information to providing their service:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in.
- Cloudflare: audio storage, delivery, and hosting of this website.
- Fly.io: processing uploaded audio.
- Backblaze: a second backup copy of your recordings.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases.
When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us.
If our business changes hands, for example in a merger or sale, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect it as this policy describes.
Where it's stored
Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Your recordings and notes are kept for as long as your account exists, including if your membership ends. Your family can keep listening, and nothing is deleted because a plan lapsed.
- When you record a passage again, the earlier take is kept for 30 days in case you want it back, then deleted.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, recordings, notes and sharing information within 30 days, including the backup copies. Information about purchases may be kept longer where the law requires it.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Get a copy. Use Export my legacy in the app's Settings to download all your recordings and notes, or ask us for a copy of the information we hold.
- Correct it. You can edit your collection, notes and sharing settings in the app, or ask us to correct anything else.
- Delete it. Email privacy@faithvoice.app from the address on your account, or tell us that address, and ask us to delete your account. We'll confirm the request and then delete it as described above.
- Control sharing. Turn off a link, remove people you've invited, or stop allowing downloads at any time in the app.
Depending on where you live, including several U.S. states, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to appeal if we decline a request. We offer these to everyone, wherever they live. To use them, email privacy@faithvoice.app. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we won't treat you differently for asking. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. If you're unhappy with how we handled your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.
Children
Accounts that record and share are for adults. Children can listen to collections a family member has shared with them, which doesn't require an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt data at rest. Recordings are delivered through links that expire after a few hours, and access to collections is enforced on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your devices and Apple account protected.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
